Serious Incident

A hospice inpatient facility must report any of the following, if it occurred on premises covered by the facility's license:

  • Fire
  • A serious criminal act, or
  • Pending or actual strike action by its employees, and contingency plans for operation of the facility

A hospice facility or program must also report any incident that seriously affected the health or safety of a patient if it resulted from an employee's or volunteer's act or omission.
